My big brown eyes gazed into the mist while I considered Cheri-Ann's question, "Are you inflicted with a terminal case of bachelorhood? Describe the woman you are waiting for?"
"Really," I thought, "why is it so hard for me to answer this question? I mean jeez, I'm an effective communicator, aren't I?"
Cheri-Ann gazed at me, beginning with the chiseled profile, framed by curly dark hair. "He's not as athletic as he was before turning forty," she noted, "but those trips to the gym have kept his 5' 9" frame hovering around 200 lbs." She worried that the poor sales of my business were blocking me from committing to a relationship. "Not all women like to sail in calm waters, some of us enjoy surfing the waves." Then her thoughts turned to all those not-so-great relationships over the years that I've had. Cheri-Ann had been trying to come up with the right woman for me. After all I finally seemed ready to settle down for a committed long-term-relationship.
"She'd need to be smart, probably well-educated." I said. "Creative. Kind-hearted. Oh, and a strong personality." After all, I had had a significant relationship with a woman who'd been chief counsel of an agency. "She'll have to like to travel"--especially Europe. "Would she need to speak German?" I wondered. Probably didn't matter-My German falls somewhere short of total fluency. How about Arabic? Definitely English. Also going with me to movies and eating out are some of the ways she'll enjoy during our free time." That part shouldn't be hard.
