| I am recently widowed and I am grieving. Therefor I am looking for friends more than romance. But I hope romance will come again into my life.
I enjoy people of all types and I enjoy conversing with those who disagree with my opinions as well as those who agree.
I do not smoke and I do not watch TV. My interests are reading (history, science, historical fiction, science fiction, and mysteries), hiking, and medieval martial arts.
There are many careers in my past: construction laborer, merchant seaman, motorcycle courier, taxi driver, truck driver, driving instructor, security guard, and now I am a consultant software developer.
When I reached forty years of age I had my mid-life crises I gave up being a motorcycle bum and went back to school to get a degree in computer science. I also got married to a widow; became a householder, and helped raise the grandchildren.
On Febuary 19, 1999 my wife died sudenly and unexpectedly in her sleep. We were married for over sixteen years and I never fell out of love with her. I have given up the house and I have accepted a contract to work for a year in Minneapolis Minnesota
I practice and teach medieval martial arts as a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). In the SCA I am known as Malcolm MacMalcolm. I am also studying Tai Chi. I enjoy long walks and I have recently taken up cross country skiing and horse riding.
I was born in Washington DC and have lived most of my life in the Washington area. I am 57 years old and have been told all too often that I look like Santa Claus.
My views about religeon or philosophy can best be described as skeptical. I try to be honest and courteous. I like to believe that I have courage. These are the values that I appreciate in others so I wish to embody them myself. A sense of humor is also important and I must confess that mine can be pretty off the wall. |
