I am a 65 year old Chinese American, 5'2", 105 lbs., came to
the US in 1963. Lost my husband of 37 years in Jan 1996. Retired
from teaching college French and working in the library at age
50. Now I teach taiji for charity.
People say I look younger than my age--hope they are not just
being nice. But honestly I feel, think and act young. At least
I walk like a young woman, looking from the back of course,
maybe because of my 28 years of taiji practice. I have been
told by my taiji students--but not my own siblings-- that I
am wise too (wow!).
I believe strongly in truthfullness, compassion, humility, social
justice, tolerance and the pursuit of personal happiness through
making others happy--goals that I'm still striving to reach.
I consider myself fit physically, mentally, financially, spiritually.
I am well educated, have passion for knowledge, people, nature,
incorrigibly romantic even adventuresome, but always come back
to REASON at crucial points. I am truthful, loyal, open-minded,
accessible, playful, tolerant, inquisitive. I have a boundless
curiosity for intellectual things and respect for great minds
(but would hesitate to live with one--I would just admire him
or her from a distance.) On the other hand I also appreciate
deeply the beauty of simplicity, spontaneity, humility and down
to earth goodness. I admire self-sacrifice and motherhood. (I
think struggling mothers are the most neglected minority on
earth.)
I have a tremendous zest for life and am ready to share its
beauty and challenges, and its sorrows too, with good friends,
and especially the person I am looking for, a like-minded gentleman
with a 'kind mind and intelligent heart', who appreciates someone
like me and with whom I want to grow older and better together.
My leisure activities include: classical music, travel, dining
out, swimming, taiji, ballrom dancing (learning), ice skating
(trying to resume), hiking and almost ALL outdoor activities.
