Instead of just saying I have a sense of humor and am a romantic I wrote the following as a way of showing --hopefully : -) that I have a sense of humor and am romantic. I am sending you an "application for your friendship" and a poem I wrote recently. After reading the following please reply if you have any further interest. Jack’s Resume and Application I have heard, through a sometimes-reliable source (you), that there may be an opening at your establishment for a friend/pen pal. Being very decisive, I decided to think about sending you my resume. I know this may be considered bold on my part but it is the type of job I have always dreamed about, OK-- would like. I know I could wash dishes and flip hamburgers -- check resume for details -- but being a good friend is a goal I set for myself at an early age. I understand that your apprenticeship program is the talk of the town with some of the best friends in the country starting with you. I am not totally without experience. In school I studied:  Park walking  Parking  Movies  Live theater -- I went to dead theater once but the dialog was a little stale.  Conversation -- talking and listening  Had fireplace starting, using real wood in college and in graduate school I had gas.  Wine tasting -- Thunderbird was an early favorite.  Foot, back and neck massage -- maximum of 8 hours at a session.  Laughter  Cooking and eating -- that is important -- some friends won’t eat what they cook.  Dancing -- the assimilation of music by your inner emotions, transformed and then manifested by the movement of the body and soul.  Living life to its fullest.  Boy Scout and honorary Camp Fire Girl -- the troop wanted me to show them the ropes, you know, tie knots etc. I know that the job of friend is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year vocation but, it is such a noble profession that I am willing to make the sacrifices needed with a smile. I
