I have spent the last few years reconnecting with many old friends and family, and it has been great fun! Now I am cultivating new friendships. By the way, when I use the word friend, I never use that word in reference to romantic relationships as some do. I think calling someone a "friend" if there is a romance is misleading,insulting and wrong.
I love the ocean and am a strong swimmer.I am also looking into taking a few courses in seamanship and navigation with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. I am looking for a class that I can invite my brother to attend with me. He and I have been fishing lately, and are both interested in things nautical. I am excited by the prospect of learning to navigate by the stars. One of my dreams has been to sail around the world, but until recently I have not been doing what is necessary to create that dream in reality.
I am not a religious zealot by any standard, but I did recently join a church group where we studied "The Road Less Traveled" by M. Scott Peck, MD. I have also read his book "The People of the Lie" which I found incredibly powerful and insightful. Heard Reverend Desmond Tutu speak this past winter and was not impressed. He stuck up for that swine Clinton. I have always wanted to be faithful to one man who is devoted to me. Being in a romantic relationship, for me, has never been anything but a wish to find a soul mate.
I am not perfect, but I have always had the faithful part figured out. If you are looking for "cool," then you are not looking for me. I will not waste your time or mine if I can see that we are not a match. I do not have a physical type. I prefer men who are monogamous, ethical, intelligent, talented, honest, verbal, trustworthy, athletic, adventurous, who do not smoke anything, and drink rarely if ever.
