I'm 53 D/W/F, who has adapted well to single life. I like to think of myself as intelligent (don't we all?), with aberrant ventures into stupidity. I am independent, as long as I have a car, a job, good friends, and an occasional dinner with a wonderful man. I'm basically honest, but I feel no need to bare my soul with everyone I meet. I have a wide variety of interests (none are centered around the NFL), and I'm still capable of acquiring more. I think life is a gift, and we only have one of them (who wants to go through potty training, and adolescence, again?) No one will need to be responsible for my happiness; I've chiseled that out quite nicely, on my own. I get along equally well, with men, and women, but far prefer the company of a good man. I'm neither looking for love, nor running from it; I just haven't found it yet (oh, unless I consider that one little episode a few years ago, that didn't work out.) I'm usually upbeat, but have the occasional day, where I might sit, and ponder my navel. None has ever said they were bored in my presence, nor demanded that I put a bag over my head, before taking me out in public. I love a good movie (purely subjective, I know!); a good strip steak, charred rare; walks on the beach, when the moon is full; poetry; the passion of Shakespeare, and Beethoven. Life is a gift, and I'm in it for the long haul. I have the maturity of years, but often need adult supervision. Oh, and I like myself ... I think we all need to be able to say that.
