My name is Randy. I am a Graphic Designer and a Painter. Originally, I am from Montana, yes, that is the “Big Sky country”. I taught drawing and design in Missoula where I went to graduate school and Billings where I taught high school. My move to Portland was to go back to school to obtain a Computer Graphics degree and change careers. My professional interest are in the arts and am an active practicing artists. My hobbies are playing classical guitar(armature) and reading as much as possible. I love to play chess, and occasionally pool. In addition, I am a great cook and a romantic die hard. My free time is spent on road trips, musical events, hikes, plein-air painting, Powells Book Store, walking the galleries, downtown exploration, learning new things, and trying to be happy as a choice of life style and not as a circumstance. I don't smoke, but on occasion I have one to remind me how awful they are. . I am not into bad T.V., get sick and dizzy and lost of appetite when I hear any game show or soap opera theme music, as well as sports, 98% of all commercials, and used car ads. I do like movies, mostly drama, and have been known to watch "The Sound of Music", "Scrooge" and "Wizard of Oz" several times. This pretty much eliminates T.V. and puts us in the category of reading good books, cooking and sharing a fine meal and a bottle of wine or two. Whoops! their goes that romantic thing. . must be a natural human instinct, or something left over from my childhood idealism. I would rather not listen to most country music unless I am sitting in a cowboy bar on top of the Beartooth Mountains and a cabin within walking distance, and then only for short intervals. However, I have been known to dance and become very expressive while listening to Patsy Cline on occasion. . .as rare as it seems. Women who have their own mind and can have happiness independent of outside stimuli are a plus. Educated. . sure. However you want to define that word. Years of schooling are not as impressive as being a genuine person
