| I have sought you, dearest one, for a lifetime. At times I thought I had found you. I did indeed find love, but it was temporary and conditional and lacked the endurance Ilonged for. Each time I thought we would celebrate a golden anniversary only to findsuch interferences as my own naive youth, death, and your fear of intimacy andcommitment over time blocking the way.
