I’m a single 27-year-old. I was in Business Management for many years. I worked with the dedication and desire to be the best at what I did. After many transfers and promotions. I had reached the top position at the biggest and busiest store within my company. Through these years I had lost tack of what really meant the most to me. I found myself working 6 to 7 days, 65 to 80 hours a week. My job had become my life; my life revolved around my job. This was not what I really wanted. Last December I quit my job and took a 7-week Wilderness Education Course with Outward Bound in the Chihuahuan desert in Texas. There I found qualities within myself that I never new I had. I saw life in a way that I had never seen before. I learned to get the most out of every day. We whitewater canoed 120 miles on the Rio Grande, backpacked over 100 miles, rock climbed, did community work in Mexico and spent time teaching and motivating local underprivileged eighth and ninth grade kids. I have since had a new direction in life. After the course was over I traveled the U.S. by car for 8 months visiting 24 states and 29 National Parks & Monuments. I spent most of my time camping, backpacking, mountain climbing, canoeing and checking out the local culture. I met many interesting people from all over the world. This past year I’ve seen and done things few other people ever have. There is so much out there in this world, so much to do and see and so many people to meet. Life is too short not to take advantage of it. There are so many things and people that are rich with beauty. I have decided to follow my dreams and do what it takes to make them happen. I hope to start traveling the U.S. again in a few months and eventually travel abroad. I hope to be able to share some of these experiences with someone special that has the same passion for life as I do.
