To describe myself is hard because I've never fit into any specific mold. I am an engineer, but I'm unlike any engineer I've ever met. I'm good at my job, and I work very hard at it. I believe in hard work, and I don't just limit that to working hard mentally. I know what it is like to labor with my hands, and to take the satisfaction from a hard day of work. Many people I've met have never understood me when I say that some of the best meals I've ever eaten have been under a tree when I'm hot, sweaty, and tired from working outside all morning. It's cleansing. But I love to learn as well. I'm the guy who reads Moby Dick just because. Nobody has to drag me to an art museum or a play. It challenges me, expands my mind and horizons. Hopefully it makes me a better person. But all my academic pursuits are still grounded. What matters how much you know if you don't use it help someone? How valuable is theory if you neglect reality? If you're so smart you can't hold a brilliant conversation with a 6 year old, how smart are you? I am a Christian. I don't believe in using the Bible to beat people up, but I also struggle to see how someone could have an experience with Christ and it not affect every aspect of their life. I'm not perfect, I make mistakes. I'm also acutely aware that I'm a Christian 24 hours a day 7 days a week, my actions should reflect so. As corny as it may sound, I still believe in honor and chivalry. I tend to give of myself freely, and believe you should do the right thing simply because it is right. I am the type of guy who would think of his partner before he thought of himself, it comes naturally and un-begrudgingly. As for things to do for fun....I'm pretty open really. I focus more on the person I'm with than the activity itself.
